Terry J., SprouseTerry J. Sprouse MSGT US Air Force Retired passed away at age 59 surrounded by family after a short fight with amyloidosis at Boston Medical Center on February 21, 2015. He is survived by his beautiful wife of 32 years, Carol of Vestal NY; a daughter, Jennifer Sprouse; son, SSGT USAF Jonathan (SSGT USAF Anna); two granddaughters, Maddie and Emma Sprouse, currently stationed at Moody Air Force base Georgia; parents, Rudolph & Mary Sprouse of Jacksonville Arkansas; sister, Brenda White (Kenneth) of Cabot Arkansas; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and friends. Terry proudly served his country in the US Air Force for 22 years and received numerous awards for exceptional performance, including Meritorious Service Metal with one device, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal with three devices, and Air Force Achievement Medal. His hobbies included cruising, cooking, and traveling in general. Cruise Critic member known as "wife's chef." Terry loved to cook, and his culinary skills were called upon often to prepare food and desserts for fund raisers as well as private and club functions. He was employed at Sears, First Student and RGIS since his retirement. Terry was an active member of Vestal First United Methodist church. Activity in his church included travel to Haiti three times to serve as a missionary in action. He also mentored youth confirmation classes for seven years, served as a camp counselor at Sky Lake for five years and provided counsel other times as needed. He enjoyed working with the youth choir, confirmation class and cooking in the kitchen for special events and youth fund raising events. A very special heartfelt thank you to the doctors, nurses and hospital staff at Boston Medical Center. Their compassionate care and kindness extends beyond a simple thank you. The body will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at Vestal First United Methodist Church at 328 Main Street, Vestal NY on March 4, 2015 at 2 PM.
