Mary Lorraine O'Brien age 64 of South Boston passed away suddenly on December 22, 2023.
Early in life Mary attended Cardinal Cushing High School in South Boston where she was known for being a very bright overachiever. She worked at State Street Bank in Boston as well as a Dental Hygienist for many years. Her soft spoken nature and gentle spirit did not take away but complimented her generosity and kindness she shared with others. Mary was very fun spirited and had a funny wit that loved to make others laugh and smile. She also had a love and passion for astrology and horoscopes.
Mary was preceded in death by parents, Thomas and Mary and O'Brien of South Boston. Along with her Nephew Mark Walsh of South Boston and Niece Jillian Heaslip of Rehoboth, MA.
She left behind her only son, George O'Brien , and her three grandkids, Gabriel, Jacob and Phoenix of North Carolina.
Mary also left behind four sisters, Debbie Cannata and long time boyfriend Bobby of Dorchester, Paula Walsh of Dorchester, Kathy Cannata of Hingham, and Maureen and husband Tim Kelleher of Allston. As well as her 8 other nieces and nephews.
In the garden of memories my dear sister Mary, you will forever be the most beautiful flower. Your fragrance lingering in our hearts and your essence guide our paths. Keep shining bright my sister and bring us to the light.
We love & miss you dearly.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday April 1, 2024 at 6:00 PM at the Holy Name Church 1689 Centre St,. West Roxbury MA. Relatives and friends are kindly welcomed.
