MARY CONCETTA FEDERICO

Mary Concetta Federico, born on September 16, 1944, in Boston, Massachusetts, passed away suddenly on March 1, 2025, at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. She was a beloved member of her community, known for her warmth and her deep love for family.

Mary was raised in South Boston, a place that held a special significance in her heart. Her affinity for nature was evident, as she often spent her time feeding the squirrels that frequented her yard. A true lover of feline companions, Mary found immense joy in the company of cats. She cherished the thrill of ghost stories and delighted in the strategic game of mahjong, hobbies that brought her immeasurable pleasure throughout her life.

Mary's vibrant personality drew her toward family gatherings, where she loved being surrounded by her large extended family. Her devotion to her loved ones was unwavering, and she took great pride in the joy of their companionship.

She is survived by her children, David and his wife Lynn of South Boston, Susan Taylor and her husband Scott of Quincy. Mary was a proud grandmother to Chris, Chelsea, and Jay Taylor, as well as John Goodine, Ryan, Shannon, Kristen, Brenna, Devin, Tabitha Goodine, David and Stephen.  Mary was also the sister of Pat, Nancy, and Veronica and shared a loving partnership with Fred Chisolm. Her life was further enriched by many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.

Mary was predeceased by her beloved husband, Daniel Goodine, and was also the devoted mother of the late Kevin and Daniel Goodine. She was the cherished daughter of the late Mary (Flood) and Charles Federico. Additionally, she was preceded in death by her siblings: Louise, Charles, Arlene, Francis, and David Federico.

The legacy of Mary Concetta Federico will be honored during a Celebration of Life service held at WM. F. Spencer Funeral Service in South Boston on Friday  March 7, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
