Margaret Dorothy Fahey

Margaret "Peggy" Dorothy Fahey, a beloved member of the South Boston community, passed away on March 12, 2025, at Boston Medical Center, the same hospital where she was born on February 19, 1937. She lived a life marked by dedication, compassion, and a commitment to helping others.

Margaret was a dedicated secretary at the Navy Yard and extended her generosity by assisting other businesses, often volunteering her time without pay, simply to support those in need. Her unwavering work ethic and willingness to lend a hand greatly impacted many throughout her career.

A vibrant and active parishioner of St. Monica's Church, Margaret found joy in her faith and community activities. She loved going to the 99 Restaurant, where she delighted the crowd with her singing, bringing smiles and warmth to her audience. Her spirit of engagement and community involvement reflected her deep love for the people around her.

Margaret is survived by her cousin Marie Davidian and numerous nieces and nephews who cherished her deeply. She was predeceased by her mother Lillian (Connors) Fahey, father Matthew Fahey, sisters Regina Collins, Mildred Walsh, Elizabeth Thompson, Mary McKinnon, Lillian Patriarca, Anita "Joan" Glennon, and brother Paul Fahey. Her family and friends remember her not only for her generous spirit but also for the love and joy she brought to those whom she encountered.

A Mass in her honor will be held on Wednesday March 19, 2025, at St. Monica's Church located at 331 Old Colony Ave, South Boston, MA, starting at 11:00 AM. The service will allow friends and family to come together to celebrate the life of a remarkable woman who touched their hearts in many ways. Margaret's legacy of kindness and service will continue to inspire those who knew and loved her. Visitation in the Wm. F. Spencer Funeral Home 575 E. Broadway (at Hst) South Bon on Wednesday morning from 9:30 - 10:30 AM. In Lieu of flowers please make donations in Peggy's memory to St. Monica's parish 331 Old Colony Ave. South Boston MA. 02127
