Lois Rose Tomilson of Quincy, MA, passed away unexpectedly at home, on July 7, 2022, at the age of 84. Born and raised in Boston, she was the beloved daughter of the late Sarah Cohen and Joseph Ferrante. Loving wife of the late Joseph “Harry” Tomilson. She is survived by her loving sons Mark Tomilson and his wife Linda, and Jonathan Tomilson and his wife Deborah; devoted Nonna to Sarah Tomilson; sister of Rosalind Ferrante and her husband Robert Letsche, and of Emmanuel Ferrante and his wife Joan Freedman.
Lois was thoughtful, kind, generous, and caring. She made everyone feel comfortable and was a mother to anyone who needed one. Lois’ caring nature was even seen in her hobbies. For many years she knitted hats and blankets for local hospitals and deployed military.
Lois had an adventurous spirit which she instilled in her sons and granddaughter. Trying new things, exploring new places, and having fun were always important to her. She encouraged her entire family to live life to the fullest.
Visitation will be held in the Wm. F. Spencer Funeral Home, 575 East Broadway (at H Street) South Boston, MA 02128 on Monday, July 18th from 9:00-10:30am. Funeral Mass will be held on the same day (July 18th) at 11:00am in St. Monica’s Parish, 331 Old Colony Ave., South Boston, MA 02127. Interment will be at Cedar Grove Cemetery, 920 Adams St, Dorchester, MA 02124, immediately following. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
