GRACE FAHEY

Fahey, Grace A. (O’Donnell).  Lifelong resident of South Boston and Marshfield on February 8, 2014.  Age 91.   Beloved wife for 61 years to the late Walter E. Fahey.  Devoted daughter of the late William J. and Sarah V. (Barden) O’Donnell.  Dearly loved mother of Karen A. Fahey-Ricciardi and her husband John of Sandwich and Jeanne M. Fahey, Ph.D. of South Boston.  Devoted “Nanny” to Michael P. Fahey-Ricciardi of Sandwich.  Dear sister to the late Joseph, Mary E., Eileen P. Leary, Francis H., John, Paul, and William C. O’Donnell.  Favorite aunt of many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Cherished “Mrs. F.” to Maureen E. Lane. Faithful companion of SoBo Fahey. Funeral from the William F. Spencer Funeral Home 575 E. Broadway South Boston (corner of H St.) on Saturday, February 15 at 9 am. Funeral Mass in the Gate of Heaven Church at 10 am.   Relatives and friends invited.  Visiting hours on Friday, February 14 from 3-8pm.  Interment in the Couch Cemetery, Marshfield, MA.  Proud member of the Gate of Heaven Ladies Guild, Gate of Heaven Ladies Bowling League, Cumann na Gaeilge i mBoston, and South Boston High School Class of 1940.  Former co-owner of M.P. Fahey Florist on E. Broadway for 55 yrs.  Our family wishes to express their gratefulness to the Copeland Wound Center (Kevin McBride, MD and Randi Bertoli, RN) and Bernice Wong, MD.  The Bostonian Nursing Care and Rehabilitation Center gave incredible care to Grace during the last 5 yrs and we wish to thank Lister, Nicole, Barbara, Karen, Winsome, Sabrina and Pam as well as all the nurses and staff on Ashmont.   Expressions of sympathy may be made in Grace’s memory to The Bostonian Elder Council Fund, Bostonian Nursing Care and Rehabilitation Center, 337 Neponset Avenue, Dorchester, MA 02122.www.spencerfuneralservice.com
