Evelyn Wilson, 90
Evelyn of North Attleboro passed away peacefully at Madonna Manor on June 18, 2018.
Born on April 23, 1928 in Attleboro, Evelyn was the caring daughter of the late Dorothy (Lovejoy) Sweet and the late Elbridge Sweet.
Evelyn made her home in North Attleboro for the past 50 years. She previously lived in West Mansfield where she was a member of The First Christian Church.
She worked at the Foxboro Company for 20 years as a supervisor in the mailroom where she made many lifelong friends.
“Evie” had numerous interests. She loved to travel. She also enjoyed sewing, knitting, and reading, rug hooking and cooking. Her famous apple squares and pork roast were delicious and enjoyed for many years by her family and friends. She loved nature and feeding the birds in her beautiful yard, her sanctuary. Her flowerbeds were her greatest passion, where she would often work until dusk. Everyone knew “Evie” for her lush gardens and “green thumb” if not for her quick wit and impeccable style. Even in her later years, you would find her with a starched blouse and coordinating jewelry, fingernails freshly manicured.
In addition to her late husband of 54 years, William F. Wilson, her two daughters, Linda Corrao and husband Albert of North Port, Florida and Wendy McDavitt and her husband Edward of North Attleboro survive Evelyn.
She was a beloved grandmother of 7, great-grandmother of 11 and great-great grandmother of 6.
Evelyn was the sister of the late Lee Sweet of Connecticut and the late Herbert Sweet of Florida.
Her family wishes to acknowledge the kind and compassionate care provided by the staff at Madonna Manor and asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Evelyn’s name to the Madonna Manor Activities Fund at 85 North Washington Street
North Attleboro, MA 02760. A private memorial will be held at a later date
