Born in Pataskala, Ohio, Beverly lived in a number of locations throughout the Midwest and eastern United States, finally settling in Somerville, MA. She was a graduate of the Northfield School. She met her husband of 31 years, Philip, V. Lewis, Sr., while working in a Saginaw Michigan record store and they married in 1952. In the 1960’s and 1970’s, she worked at WOTW Radio in Nashua, NH, where she co-hosted a popular daily morning talk show called “Impact.” Beverly later worked for 16 years at Koch Membrane Systems (later Koch Industries) in Wilmington, MA. She enjoyed reading, music and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Philip. She is survived by her brothers Chauncey Carpenter of Savannah, GA and Richard Carpenter of Rock Hill, SC, a daughter Carol Lewis and her husband Olav C. Henriksen of Somerville, MA, a son Philip V. Lewis, Jr and his wife Penney of Alton, NH, a son Robert C. Lewis and his wife Tracey of Belchertown, MA, as well as five grandchildren Tanya, William, Marianne, Taylor and Robbie, and three great grandchildren Camron, Hayden and Analese.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 2nd at 4:00 pm at the First Parish Unitarian-Universalist Church, 630 Massachusetts Ave. Arlington, MA 02476.
